I woke up this morning to a clear blue sky and abundant sunshine that tricked me into thinking it was spring. In the spirit of imagination I decided to play along. I made my coffee and sat against my house on the back porch in my pajamas and sunglasses. I let my coffee cup warm my hands and the sunshine warm my face. This moment was so good for my heart, teaching me to transcend circumstances and enjoy what I could see should be enjoyable.
So much of your attitude is related to your perspective. So much of your perspective is related to your attitude.
As you choose to be joyful – peaceful, hopeful, take your pick – your perspective is changed, causing you to see (perspective, again) the good things, which in turn causes you be joyful (attitude, again).
The fruits of the spirit – love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control – are accessible to us regardless of circumstance.
I encourage you to find your moment, find your reasons for these things in your day-to-day life. There are treasures in life, hidden for you to delight in finding. With eyes to see, look around you. You’ll be surprised by how your perspective will change forever.
I hope that today you’ll find your little bit of spring in this winter afternoon.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. – Romans 15:13
