I dreamed we walked along the outskirts of the city in a rundown part or town. Tall houses were vandalized with graffiti and poor, old men, looking worn and unshaven, were sitting on the edge of the street just watching the rest of the world go by. We traveled past this sight and into the heart of the city.
Next thing I know I’m walking with friends and family through downtown on our way to a reception. On the way we start singing a song. It was a popular “Jesus-song” that everyone knew the words to. They had so much fun singing it that they just kept going as we made our way through the streets. By the time we got to the reception, singing, the entertainment for the night changed their songs and played “Shekinah Glory” because everyone was having so much fun feeling the Holy Spirit move as they sang.
I led the party in a few other choruses that weren’t as well known and the people were released into joy and freedom (and fun!) that they never knew. The Holy Spirit came and it was like even their physical bodies felt full of life and light. I was so surprised because these people I was with wouldn’t normally be singing these songs or enjoying these times, but there was no denying the goodness of the presence that came as we sang together. We all knew there is nothing better.
The Lord has got it in for families and corporately releasing increased measures of His presence in a way that surprises and delights our hearts.
Be looking. This year, people we never expected – because of His kindness – will taste and see, in unforeseen measure, that He is better with no reason to deny.
And they will make the divine exchange; trading in all sorts of anxiety and weightiness for love, joy, and peace in that moment.
For when He comes, you can’t deny, He is sweeter.
He tastes better.
And the new life they feel in their heart will be the testament to this truth.
ARISE (from the depression and prostration your circumstances have kept you — rise to a new life!) Shine (be radiant with the glory of the Lord), for your light has come, and the glory of the Lord has risen upon you! For behold, darkness shall cover the earth, and dense darkness (all) peoples, but the Lord shall arise upon you (O Jerusalem), and His glory shall be seen on you. And nations shall come to your light, and kings to the brightness of your rising.
Lift up your eyes around you and see! They all gather themselves, they come to you. Your sons shall come from afar, and your daughters shall be carried and nursed in the arms. Then you shall see and be radiant, and your heart will thrill and tremble with joy (at the glorious deliverance) and be enlarged; because of the abundant wealth of the (Dead) Sea shall be turned to you.
I saw consolation and joy given to those who I had known to be dead inside. I saw the eyes opening of those who had been bound and imprisoned by lies, fears, and disbelief. I saw beauty and joy being given for worthless things, without question, in a moment. And the garment of excessive praise was given to them instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit — that they might be called strong, rooted and grounded in love for the glory of the Lord.
And instead of shame, they will receive a double portion of restoration. They will possess double of what they had earlier forfeited – Oh, Kindness! – and everlasting JOY will belong to those once dead and now alive!
At the end of the day all nations will come and adore the One who is worthy; the One who has been slain for our benefit.
We will partner with Heaven and we will see it established on the Earth with our own eyes.
We are living for such a time to see the fulfillment of promise, presence, and power all for the glory of Him in who we live and move and have our being.
